Fires mean 'end of an era' for neighborhood, ex-resident says
|
|
The 8000 block of Robinwood near Van Dyke looks like a war zone today with roofs missing, homes collapsed and large amounts of charred debris littering the streets. About a dozen homes on the long block on the city's east side were affected by the fires that tore through several areas of the city Tuesday night in neighborhoods that already are peppered with vacant and boarded up structures. About 85 structures burned in a four-hour span as flames were fanned by wind gusts of nearly 50 mph.
